This Tuesday our menu plan called for the following
Protein: Ground Pork
Vegetable: Fennel
Side: Potatoes
Ground Pork Burgers With Bacon
Very rarely do we ever eat ground beef anymore. Buying organic meat & poultry sometimes becomes cost prohibitive when supply is low, but to be perfectly honest ground red meat is simply no longer a big attraction for me. Organic ground pork on the other hand is so much more appealing, it’s not as dense and the flavour is much more satisfying when mixed with other savoury ingredients.
We have a tradition of enjoying particularly addictive ground pork burgers made with organic bacon, sauteed onions & garlic, and toasted gluten free bread crumbs; no one skips burger night.
Home Fries & Fennel Salad
When burgers are on the menu home fries are almost always an automatic response, especially when seasoned with garlic and onion powder, kosher salt, cajun spice and brown sugar!
The fennel salad, I’ll be honest, is purely to help alleviate the guilt of eating ground pork & bacon burgers accompanied by home fries. The fries are baked by the way, but still there has to be something healthy on our plate ;)
